It has been a really long time since I have written on the Remember My Love site.. but today I would like to remember Karen Brock, as I walked/ran in honor of her memory this morning with the "Brock On" Team.

She was a dear person and dearly loved by so many people. I was told that her journey fighting this disease was a journey of Faith and that through it all she was surrounded by love.

I Ask God to shower blessings on her family today as this was the first year that they had to walk the Ovarian Cancer Awareness walk with out her there.

Please Support The Remember My Love Project if you feel led to do so. It only takes around $75.00 per family to give a family who is dealing with a diagnosis of a terminal illness a tangible lasting gift.

A Cool band (group of gyn surgeons) that I met at the walk was called N.E.D. no evidence of disease. 100% of the purchase of their music CD goes toward the research for a cure and to raise awareness.

I wanted to thank all of you so much for your continued support... I am just shy of reaching the goal of $750 to send in the application form. I am so grateful for you all!!!!

Also, I thought I lost this photograph and was really devastated! But this morning I found it!!! This is the original photograph that inspired me to start this project. The Love is so apparent in our eyes for each other! My favorite photograph and most important one of my mother that I possess!

we are asking 375 people to consider donating 2 dollars each! how quick and easy is that? We are only 195 people away from that goal!!! Thank you all for all your donations, the money will specifically be going towards getting the 501 C 3 status so that any donations in the future will be tax deductible and large sums of money are already in waiting for that to happen. I would like to make this project as big as possible to bless as many families as possible... think big right!!!

The other donations will be used for buying books and canvas prints and the supplies to burn CD's for each family.

With all my heart, I will miss seeing you here Shannon, you were a pillar of strength and faith on this world and your family's belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus was and is still a beautiful testament to The Truth of the Gospel, and that we live not for this life, but for the life to come.

To live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Our hope in the Lord will sustain us all while we grieve.
You are whole now with no more pain or sickness.

I started the Remember My Love Project in hopes to bless the families I work with with beautiful photographs, although, in turn, you'll never know how much the love and faith that your family has exhibited during the duration of your illness has moved me to change in my own heart toward God and the way I want to live my own life. I know you have touched many many lives here and all over the country.

God Provides

God has provided...

I haven't been very successful at raising money at this point because my 501 c 3 is still pending.

This is a true lesson to me that if God has a plan, he will see it through.

I won a 20 x 24 canvas at a conference FREE!!!

and Yesterday I got an e-mail from Pictage telling me they are giving a willow book away to all their members so that we can have a sample book... FREE!!!

(exactly the two products I had planned to provide the families of Remember My Love)

So I now have a Canvas and a Book to give to the Dodds!!!!!!

They have both been ordered and soon will arrive!!

I am so thankful and feel so blessed that this has happened!

When the 501 c 3 comes through, watch the blog to get the announcement for the up and coming party of the century!!!

It will have art for sale and good music and great h'orderves!!!

I am so pleased from the bottom of my heart to announce the beginning of "Remember My Love." This organization was started to only bless people and their families. I never expected to start a nonprofit growing up, all I knew was I loved to create and make art in all shapes and forms, but there was always this part of my heart that called out in the darkness..."Is this all there is...how is art going to bless other's lives and to help them?" Soon my longings to do something meaningful to help people with my talents became a clear vision of what to do. As of now I am taking it one step at a time, one day at a time and one family at a time.

Thanks to God who aligned the stars to meet the right people at the right time. Thanks Dr. Podnos at Duke Cancer Center for being such a great support in getting this started. And thank you to the Cancer staff at Duke Hospital for all your interest in getting this off the ground.

Also, Thank you dear Shannon for sharing parts of your life with me and letting me use your images here on the new blog.

This whole idea for "Remember My Love " stems from my own experience of the loss of my own mother to Cancer in 1974. I didn't know her memory, yet I remembered her love which stayed with me forever. I didn't have very many photographs of her and I together, but what little I do have I cherish. They are a window into her expressions, the look in her eyes and her love.(my mother in high school)

Now, I feel privileged that God would use me in this way, and honored to share the time with these beautiful families to provide for them photographs that will impact their lives forever in a positive and meaningful way.

Now, it turns out that this organization is also already blessing artists as well. I am overwhelmed with how many photographers have told me that they want to be apart of this.

I didn't know it, but there are so many of you out there like me, an artist with a yearning to help others and not really sure how to do that with the talents that God has given you and the passions that you behold in your heart. Now, I am committed to helping other photographers and artists as well to give. I used to think I didn't have the resources to give, but now I have been proven wrong.

My goal in 2009-10 is to start a conference to help educate artists and photographers in how to do just that, not to leave their skills but to use them to make an impact on this world for the better, and love with passion what they do.
